Seeking Jesus First Mar. 7, 2025

We are empowered by God’s Spirit in us to walk according to the Spirit.

For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.” (Romans 8:3–4, NKJV)

“He who knew no sin became sin, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” “We have been made partakers of His divine nature.” “The same spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in us and quickens our mortal bodies.” We have been made more than conquerors through Christ who loved us.” “Those who are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God.”

Th Scripture is clear that we are empowered to live a divine life. We are empowered to be led by The Spirit of God. We are no longer slaves to the flesh. We are no longer chained to sinful bondages. We have been made alive in Christ Jesus. We are able to walk as sons in newness of life. “Those who have received the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness do reign as kings in life through the one, Christ Jesus.”

We reckon (this is an accounting term) ourselves to be dead to sin and alive unto righteousness.

We are empowered by God’s Spirit in us to walk according to the Spirit and not according to the flesh. “For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.” (Colossians 1:9–14, NKJV)
