How does one keep covenant with someone who cannot keep covenant? One can create a covenant that does not depend on the other party. One can create a covenant that grants one’s own power to keep covenant to the other party.

This is what GOD did. GOD became a man and cut covenant with GOD as a man. In this covenant, GOD granted the His own Holy Spirit to those who would believe. GOD gave to man His divine nature. This covenant requires only faith to receive from God the covenant and all that is included in it. The new covenant even grants the faith necessary to believe GOD.

That begs the question, “Why would GOD go to all that trouble?” The answer is written throughout Scripture. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” (John 3:16–17, NKJV)

GOD loves His creation. God loves us. He is “Our Father in heaven”. “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9, NKJV)

The LORD GOD ALMIGHTY loves us and desires for us to be in covenant relationship with Himself. He made a way. He adopts all who come to Him. He is merciful and full of compassion. “This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope. Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!” The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, To the soul who seeks Him. It is good that one should hope and wait quietly For the salvation of the Lord.” (Lamentations 3:21–26, NKJV)

For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”” (Romans 10:11–13, NKJV)
