Unity Part Two
“I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.” (Ephesians 4:1–6, NKJV)
The unifying principle of the body of Christ is that Christ Jesus is the Head of the body. The unity of the faith is not the unity of doctrine. It is the unity of faith in Christ Jesus. We believe in who Christ Jesus is and what He accomplished. If we differ on methods, let’s just get excited that God is doing something in each other.
This is why there is more than one kind of church, but there is only one body. Let’s follow the admonition of Holy Spirit through Apostle Paul’s epistle. Walk worthy of the calling by staying humble and gentle with each other, and by doing all we can to keep the unity of The Spirit in the bond of peace. If we believe in Christ Jesus, we are one.
