Seeking Jesus First Nov. 11, 2024

What in you accesses the ability of God to do exceedingly abundantly above all you can ask, think or imagine? That access is according to the power that works in you.

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” (Ephesians 3:21, NKJV)

What IS the power that works in you? Just a few short verses earlier Paul prays,

“that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man,”

God through the riches of His glory, strengthens us with power by His Spirit in our spirit - our inner self. The power that works in us is the glory of God which strengthens us by our inner communion with Himself through the Holy Spirit. And this Holy Spirit connection fills us with the love of Christ and teaches us the deep things of God and opens us up to be filled with all the fullness of God.

Whenever you read a scripture, it is good to see how it connects with other verses. This reinforces your faith because it gives you multiple witnesses. Look up Roman’s 5:5, 1 Cor. 2:9-10, Col. 1:9-11

The Scriptures get easier to understand and believe as we start seeing the patterns that repeat. God wants to have us present with Him in the glory. He gave us His Spirit and His Word. They work in us to fill us with all that God has for us. We simply show up in faith and listen and obey and we are transformed from glory to glory into the glorious image of Christ.
