Seeking Jesus First Nov. 15, 2024
Bible Challenge - Read Psalm 119 out loud 30 days in a row. It takes about ten to fifteen minutes.
I began this challenge eleven days ago and I am finding it easier to think on things that are good. As we read about words, laws, testimonies, precepts, statutes, ways and commands, remember that the law of love that Christ Jesus gave us fulfills (without negating) all of God’s words. We are saved by grace through faith. That being said, in this life on earth “we shall reap what we sow.”
“Blessed are the undefiled in the way, Who walk in the law of the Lord! Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, Who seek Him with the whole heart! They also do no iniquity; They walk in His ways. You have commanded us To keep Your precepts diligently. Oh, that my ways were directed To keep Your statutes! Then I would not be ashamed, When I look into all Your commandments. I will praise You with uprightness of heart, When I learn Your righteous judgments. I will keep Your statutes; Oh, do not forsake me utterly!” (Psalm 119:1–8, NKJV)
- The blessing, which belongs to us by inheritance through Christ Jesus, flows through us into what we are doing as we walk in the love of Christ.
- When we seek God with our whole heart, we find Him. This seeking includes keeping His words and releases God blessing and favor into our daily lives.
- When we are walking in the love of Christ, we are doing no iniquity. The fruit of the spirit have no law against them.
- Christ has commanded us to follow Him and to diligently observe everything that He commanded.
- The LORD orders our steps and does not lead us into temptation but He delivers us from evil.
- Because of this and the presence of His love in our lives, we do not need to be ashamed when we are in His presence.
- The righteous words of Christ sanctify and justify us so that we can come boldly and confidently before the throne of grace. We are righteous by faith in Him.
- We abide in Him and His words abide in us and He never leaves us nor forsakes us.
