Seeking Jesus First - Nov. 26, 2024
Christ Jesus was given the kingdom of God to rule over it. As King of kings, He has been made the king over all the earth. However, He has given the rule of the earth to men and will judge them according to their works. The Parable of the Talents in Matthew 25:14-30 speaks to this.
The kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, so he chooses servants to rule over all that he owns - giving each authority base upon their talents and abilities. When he returned from his journey he Mae them all give account and rewarded or punished them according to their results. The man was not unjust or uncaring to reward some and punish others. He simply rewarded them according to their own choices and decisions.
“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.” (Isaiah 9:6–7, NKJV)
“And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.” (Daniel 2:44, NKJV)
The kingdom of God, The kingdom of His Christ is an everlasting kingdom which consumes all other kingdoms and endures forever. Seven Times in the Bible, it says, “The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.”” (Psalm 110:1, NKJV) While Christ Jesus is not on earth, His body has a purpose - Disciple the nations, teaching them to observe His commands. The longer intakes to do this, the longer there will be slavery, theft, killing and destruction. The gates of hell shall not prevail against the called out ones who know their God. Those who know their God shall be strong and do exploits.
