Merely acknowledging the promises of God is not the same as possessing them. The promises of God are your inheritance, just as God promised the children of Israel the land of Canaan for their inheritance. Their inheritance was inhabited by those whom God had disinherited. Possessing the land meant dispossessing the disinherited. God empowered them to do it. They obeyed God and possessed the land.

In the New Covenant, righteousness is the result of faith. All things that pertain to life and godliness is our inheritance. We must possess the righteousness of God through faith. God’s righteousness transforms us through faith from the heart to the mind and the body. We are transformed by the renewing of our minds. We are empowered to transform our minds with God’s Spirit, God’s Words, God’s Love and God’s Thoughts.

Let’s go through the process that we have been discussing:

  • RECEIVE HIS PRESENCE - Know God. Humbly approach Him through faith and loving worship. 1.) Experience His righteousness
  • RECEIVE HIS WORDS - Hear God. Take His words into your eyes and ears. Read The Word with Holy Spirit engaged. 2.) Read and listen about righteousness which results from faith.
  • RECEIVE HIS DESIRES - Believe God. Take His words into your heart. 3.) Believe that God really does give you His righteousness.
  • RECEIVE HIS NATURE - Think like God. Repent. Take His words into your mind. 4.) Arrest every thought that binds you to unrighteousness and fight the good fight of faith to change the way you think.
  • RECEIVE HIS BEHAVIOR - Act like God. Love. Take his love into your actions. 5.)Walk by faith, hope and love - this is acting out the righteousness of your new identity.
  • RECEIVE HIS AUTHORITY - Speak like God. Take His words into your mouth. 6.) Let no more corrupt communication come out of your mouth. Partner with Holy Spirit to check your language so that your words always agree with the truth that you are righteous and you have right standing with God through Christ Jesus.
