You are a spirit with a soul dwelling in a physical body. You are a spiritual being full of light dwelling in the kingdom of light.

The eyes of your body are the gatekeepers of light into your body. If your eyes are closed, you will see nothing. In a similar way, your eyes are one of the input devices for your brain. What you give your time and focus to will influence the way you think.

This is why Jesus says, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. “The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!” (Matthew 6:21–23, NKJV)

What are you giving your time and focus to? Is it filling you with light or keeping you in darkness?

Set your affections on God’s heart and will for your life. Look unto Jesus the author and finisher of your faith. Keep your eyes on what God is doing. Walk in the light as He is in the light.
